Although one of my favorite photographic subjects has always been the birds that dot our coastal shorelines, I always enjoy pointing my lens at the various songbirds and larger birds of prey that inhabit the grasslands and forests further inland - otherwise known as landbirds.

One of the benefits of photography is it allows you to slow down and view the world differently than what you do when caught up in the daily hustle of life. While it has retrained my eye to notice the details in the distant landscapes, it has allowed me to be able to peek into the minuscule worlds I would have never notices any other way.

One of the things I find most fascinating about shooting wildlife and birds is watching their behavior. As much as I love the classic shots, I take great pleasure in catching them in their more unique and sometimes humorous moments,.
